These must-have gadgets are an essential part of every day life. Check out these fantastic gizmos and more at Redsave.

iPod Touch 16GB
When it comes to high-tech cool it really doesn’t get better than this. The iPod Touch shares a name with Apple’s famous music player, but is radically different: the click wheel interface has been replaced with a very funky touch-screen. The screen covers almost the entire front of the device, and as well as looking great it’s brilliant for video, hold it sideways and you’ve got a widescreen portable video player! The Touch also supports Wi-Fi for web browsing and can play YouTube videos.

Digital Photo Frame
These brilliant high tech photo frames make amazing gifts – either for yourself or someone else. They display your digital photos on their built-in colour LCD screens so you can have all your photos on show without printing them out. Redsave has a huge range of digital frames, but our most popular is the 7 Inch photo frame.

Sennheiser RS120 Wireless headphones
Set yourself free with these great headphones from audio experts Sennheiser. These high quality ear cans offer amazing sound quality, with the added advantage of being completely wireless so you won’t get tangled up in cables and can relax on the sofa far back from the TV or stereo.

Micro Mosquito RC Helicopter
This is a cheap and light-weight remote controlled chopper, but it’s still far too good for kids. The Mosquito has two channels, which means it goes up and down and side to side, making it really easy to fly, and you can weigh down the nose to make it move forward. A great little toy that’s perfect for novice pilots.

Flying Lanterns

August 18th, 2009 by Redsave

You may be familiar with these lanterns already, because as widely reported in the news they’ve been the culprit for many UFO reports as concerned citizens call the police to say they’ve spotted a mysterious glowing object in the sky.

But they’re not just used to spook jumpy sky-watchers. Flying Lanterns, also known as Chinese Flying Lanterns, add an exciting new element to any event.

Light the lanterns and the hot air fills the balloon, sending them soaring. Their mysterious glow can be seen climbing several miles in the sky for around 20 minutes. Flight ceases when all the fuel has been burnt and the flame subsides then as the air in the lantern cools it will gently float back to the ground for a safe landing.

The Lanterns will fly to more than 1,000 meters in altitude, providing an amazing show for all. Hand Crafted Authentic Chinese Flying Lanterns soar to new heights; you won’t believe your eyes.

And don’t worry about the waste left afterwards: the lanterns are 100% biodegradable so they won’t leave garbage everywhere. They are safe, fun and perfect for any outdoor event.

Hangover Kit

August 17th, 2009 by Redsave

Had a rough night? A lad’s night on the town can be hard on the liver, stomach, head and most other body parts.

If you found yourself in a drinking contest or two last night, you had a little too much to drink and now you’re dealing with a stinking hangover then soothe your headache and recover the morning after with this handy hangover kit.

The Hangover Kit for Him is the ideal gift for that typical lad who is out every boozing it up with his buddies, but woefully regretting it in the morning.

All you need to save you from a horrible day feeling sick and dealing with a monster of a headache comes in a blue, black and white box which is nice and easy on the eyes and can be placed neatly on your bedside table ready for use the second you wake up.

It includes a soothing ice pack for your throbbing head and a giant mug for a big helping of warm, sweet tea.

Just open up the tin and put the ice bag in the freezer to cool down. While that’s going on why not boil the kettle for a humongous cup of hot tea and make some toast or even a greasy fry up while you’re at it.

Once you’ve had the bucket of tea and the ice bag has melted on your hot, aching head and you’ve managed not to fall asleep in the process then your headache should have been magically banished.

Rubik’s Cube

August 12th, 2009 by Redsave

The original and still the best, Rubik’s Cube is one of the most popular puzzles ever created. It’s the biggest and fast selling cult toy of all time and ever since it appeared in 1982 it’s been a constant fixture on kid’s Christmas lists.

It’s a design classic that hasn’t changed for almost 30 years and the current Rubik’s Cube is the same as the original model, with six different coloured sides (red, blue, green, white, yellow and black), each made up of nine squares. Out of the box these coloured squares are neatly lined up, but after the faces are jumbled up you have to twist them to return each coloured square to its original place. Sounds pretty simple? You’d be surprised!

The Rubik’s Cube is now so popular that there are world record breaking competitions held all over the world. Some re held under water, some blindfolded, some are even completed using just the player’s feet. The current record is held by a Czech man who solved a cube in 7.08 seconds. 7.08 minutes for most people is a good time, so you’d best get practicing if you’re in with a hope of beating the best!

There are a staggering 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 ways of arranging the squares, and only one of these is the solution. Do you think you can solve the puzzle of the Rubik’s Cube?

Sun Visor CD Caddy

August 12th, 2009 by Redsave

Although lots of people are now using iPods with digital audio files many of us still have loads of CDs lying around, especially in the car where you are very likely to have a CD player stereo. The problem with these discs though is that they are easily damaged, particularly if you take them with you when travelling.

The Sun Visor CD Caddy is a handy disc storage device designed for your car. It can hold up to 12 CDs (or DVDs) in a safe compartment, keeping them protected.

But unlike a standard CD wallet the Sun Visor Caddy doesn’t just sit inside your glove compartment, it slips onto the car’s sun visor. This has several advantages.

First is that the discs are kept out of the way, the Sun Visor Caddy isn’t knocking about in the glove compartment or on the floor. They’re also within easy reach, the driver or passenger can just pull down the visor and select a disc. It also puts the discs out of sight, reducing the risk of theft.

The Sun Visor Caddy also includes a handy zipped compartment for storing small change and other knick-knacks, as well as a pen holder.

USB Memory Card Reader

August 10th, 2009 by Redsave

We remember when memory cards first appeared, not only were they huge compared to current cards, but they were an exotic new technology and very expensive. Now they’re smaller, cheaper and very, very common.

They’re used in digital cameras, phones, laptops, PDAs, GPS units and more. Chances are you’ve got several lying around the house. The trouble is that there are a ridiculous number of different types of card and as well as getting confused about what’s what, you might have some problems accessing them on a computer as card readers may only accept one or two types.

A solution is to get one reader that’s compatible with lots of different cards, and this handy USB card reader from Redsave does the job at a very low price as it supports the following types of memory card:

CompactFlash (I, II and Ultra)
Micro Drive/SMC/xD
MiniSD/T-Flash
SD (Ultra, MMC)
Memory Stick (Pro Duo, Duo, MG, Pro)

That covers the most common memory cards that you’re likely to encounter!

The USB Card Reader slots straight into a spare USB port so you can use it on any system, and it’s small so easily dropped into your bag for travelling. On the end is a cap that pops off to reveal the card slots, no software is needed so all you’ve got to do is plug it in and you can access the card’s storage from your PC.

August 7th, 2009 by Redsave

Brighten up your home with one of the many great household items available at Redsave.

Mood Beams
The cute mood beams are a huge cult hit. These funky little characters put on an interactive light show, slowly changing colour in time with music. They make great mood lamps for bedrooms  and living rooms and come in a wide variety of designs.

Gumball Poster
At a glance this looks like a normal poster. It’s very colourful and kitsch, ideal for a retro living room or office. But as you get closer to the Gumball Poster, you realise that something’s not quite right. This isn’t just a picture of a gumball machine, it actually works. Cleverly built into a frame, this flat machine doesn’t need money, just twist the handle for a treat.

Sun Jar
You keep jam in a jam jar and sun in the Sun Jar. Leave the Sun Jar in light during the day and it charges up, then at night the Sun Jar turns itself on and unleashes the stored energy with a pleasant glow for up to 5 hours.

Digital Talking Photo Frame
Unlike the digital photo frames this doesn’t have a built-in display, but it’s not completely devoid of technological wizardry. Place your favourite photo in the frame like normal, then use the button on the back to record a 10 second message that will be played when anyone touches the glass. Great as a romantic or funny gift.

iPod Accessories

August 6th, 2009 by Redsave

The world-beating iPod is without a doubt the best music player around, and easily the most popular. There are loads of great accessories you can buy for your iPod and Redsave stocks a great selection. Here are some of our favourites.

Maxell iPod Docking Station
The powerful Maxell docking station for iPod’s allows you to turn your portable music player into a stereo so everyone can enjoy it. This is a 2.1 speaker set, which means that in addition to the pair of speakers you also receive a sub-woofer for extra-strong bass. The dock is compatible with the standard iPod dock so the speakers work with the iPod Classic 5G, 4G, 3G and the Mini and Nano.

Belkin TuneFM
The Belkin TuneFM works with iPod Nano’s only, but is absolutely essential if you’re a Nano owner and have a car. The TuneFM beams audio from the Nano over an FM signal that any nearby radio can pick up, the idea being that you tune your car radio into the same frequency and listen to music without any wires.

Mini Speaker Bag
The Speaker Bag not only protects your iPod from damage, but the built-in speaker allows you to turn your iPod into a portable stereo, so it’s really handy for car journeys and trips to the beach and park. This one isn’t specifically for iPods and actually works with any audio player that has a 3.5mm cable.

Ez Music Showcase
This amazing iPod speaker lets you use your iPod music player anywhere. Once inside the case it forms an airtight seal that not only protects against falls and scratches, but also against water. You can take this on holiday and use it safely by the pool without having to worry about water damage.
